1. Developing the brief

Each project starts by carefully considering your needs and aspirations so that we can set clear objectives for your project. A budget along with an outline design and construction programme is then agreed upon.

2. Concept presentation

The first stage of the design process involves a concept presentation using inspirational imagery to further refine the brief.

3. Design development

At this stage, we present layout drawings as well as finishes to areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, and proposals for any structural changes. If required, applications for detailed planning permissions are submitted and any changes to the scope of the project, budget and time schedule are agreed upon.

4. Detailed design

Following approval of the design, we progress with the detailed specification of every element, including cabinetry, joinery, lighting, kitchen, bathrooms, audio-visual and landscaping.

5. Construction

Before construction can commence, the team prepares information for pricing and obtains tenders for building works. During construction, Finchatton project manages and oversees works throughout, ensuring suppliers deliver the best quality of work, on time and to budget.

6. Furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E)

The design team presents the complete interiors scheme showing samples of fabrics, carpets, specialist wall finishes, and any bespoke items of furniture and furnishings.

7. Procurement (FF&E)

Liaising with specialist craftspeople and bespoke suppliers, our design team negotiates on your behalf and selects the best materials and objects from around the world.

8. Artwork Sourcing

Where required, the design team works closely with independent art curators who are introduced to the project in the early stages, and can source and present artwork as a collection taking into account any existing pieces you may have.

9. Installation, dressing and accessorising

Finally, the team focusses on dressing and accessorising as the final steps before presenting you with the keys to your exceptional home.
